Dear Community The Sitem MedTech HUB (hereinafter referred to as SMH) – where MedTech Startups thrive – is a place for the MedTech industry. This is where people promote, network and develop. We live the "spirit", have "skin in the game" and look out for each other.

We welcome every ethnicity, every religious belief and every gender. We promote a sustainable working environment and an environment in which everyone feels safe, comfortable, valued and cared for and in which everyone has the opportunity to build a meaningful network and receive support. In doing so, we cultivate a respectful and appreciative relationship with each other.

In order for us to provide you and everyone else with an inspiring environment, there are some customs and rules to follow. We ask you to comply with our house rules. Failure to comply with house rules may result in a warning. With three warnings, we will take action and you will be expelled from the community and your membership terminated.

OPENING HOURS SMH: The SMH is always open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. SMH members (New Work, Resident & Private Offices) receive additional authorizations via the Salto KS locking system so that they can also use the hub 24/7 outside opening hours. If something does not work with your access, contact the hosting team at the Welcome Desk or write to us at welcome@ssc.swiss.

WELCOME DESK (RING-THE-BELL-SERVICE) The Welcome Desk is served from Monday to Friday from 09:00 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 16:00 (ring-the-bell service). Outside these hours, inquiries can be made via welcome@ssc.swiss or the Nexudus message board.

EMERGENCY / FIRE ALARM: In an emergency, contact the hosting team at the Welcome Desk or contact the official emergency number 112 directly. In the event of a fire alarm, leave the building immediately via one of the emergency exits and go to the assembly point in front of the main entrance (Weyermannsstrasse 36, 3008 Bern).

ESCAPE ROUTE: Our two emergency exits (marked in green) are located on the ground floor at the main exit and in Hive Event Room E02.

NULL TOLERANCE: In case of (sexual) harassment, discrimination or other inappropriate behavior, we have zero tolerance, you will be excluded from the community and your membership will be terminated. 

  1. GENERAL: a. Bicycles: Please do not bring your bike to the MedTech HUB. Place it at the designated bicycle parking spaces outside the building (Weyermannsstrasse 36). b. Questions or feedback: If you have any questions or feedback, please contact the hosting team at the Welcome Desk or write to us at welcome@ssc.swiss. c. Pets: We ask you to leave your pet at home. d. Lost & Found: If you have found or lost something, come to the Welcome Desk. Items that are not picked up after two weeks will be handed over to das Lost and Found Bern. e. Trust: Trust is the basis of our community. If we notice that you are abusing our trust (e.g. uses more coworking time than you are entitled to as part of your membership), we will draw consequences (warning until exclusion from the community). f. Advertising: If you want to advertise for your company (flyers, posters, business cards), then contact the hosting team at the Welcome Desk. Unauthorised advertising will be removed and disposed of directly.

  2. LIABILITY: a. Damage: If you damage something, you also assume liability. Please contact us at the Welcome Desk. b. Personal responsibility: You have to take care of your own things. The Sitem MedTech HUB is not liable for losses, thefts or damage to third parties. c. Guests: As a member you are welcome to receive guests with us. Please note, however, that as a host, you are responsible for your guests. Introduce them to the customs and rules of the SMH. Please note: We are happy to grant hospitality rights, but expect their drinks and consumption to be paid. d. Insurance: The member has to take care of the insurance of his property, his employees and the persons invited by him in the SMH .

  3. INFRASTRUCTURE AND FURNITURE: a. Furniture and infrastructure: You are not allowed to make changes to the furniture or the infrastructure provided unless expressly discussed with the hosting team. In addition, put the furniture back after use as you found it. This applies to the whole SMH, as well as to our meeting rooms and the Hive Event Room. Do you have ideas to change the SMH sustainably? Great, then please contact the hosting team or write to us at welcome@ssc.swiss. b. White Boards & Flipcharts: If you use our White Boards and Flipcharts, we ask you to clean them after use and/or to remove or dispose of the paper. . c. Keys: All keys (badges & mechatronic keys) belong to the SMH. Never give your key to third parties. If your key is lost or stolen (badge, mobile phone with eKey), report this immediately to the Welcome Desk. d. Overnight stay: We understand that some members sometimes have to work until late in the evening. Nevertheless, staying overnight in the SMH is prohibited. We are happy to help you find a suitable accommodation nearby. e. Water & electricity: Make sure that you use water and electricity sparingly - for the sake of the environment. If you are the last one in the SMH in the evening, don't forget to turn off the manual lights and close the windows. The basic light is controlled by presence detectors and extinguishes automatically.

  4. CLEANLINESS: a. Waste and recycling: The SMH recycles (PET, aluminium, paper, compost, batteries). You will find the right containers for this in the coworking, in the lounge and in the community kitchen. b. Dishwasher: There is a dishwasher in the lounge on the ground floor and the community kitchen on the 1st floor. If you have dirty dishes, put it directly yourself. Start a program when the basket is filled. If a rinsing program is already running, place the things next to the sink or in a new basket (lounge). c. Cleaning Workplace: After your work, we ask you to clean up your workplace and clean it with the means provided (except fix desks).

  5. SMH: a. Flexible working in the SMH: If you work for us, you can sit at any freely available workplace according to your price plan (membership). If you are absent for a long time, we ask you to vacate your workplace so that others can also find a place to work. b. Volume: The Flex Desk and Fix Desk area in the Focus Zone on the 1st floor, is a quiet zone, it is necessary to work quietly. Please stick to this rule so that others can work in a focused manner. c. Telephone calls / conversations: If you make a phone call or other conversation, please do so in the designated areas, namely the telephone booths, sofa corners and in our lounge on the ground floor. d. Meeting Rooms / Hive Event Room: For meetings and events, our Meeting Rooms and the Hive Event Room on the ground floor are at your disposal. You can reserve these directly via the Nexudus member app or our website. Please note that we accept reservations exclusively via the website or via welcome@ssc.swiss . Depending on your price plan, you may incur costs for the reservation. e. Extension room booking: If you need a room longer than you have booked it, extend it directly in the Nexudus member app or contact the Welcome Desk. Your room booking will be extended upon availability. Don't stay in the room without a message. f. Extended coworking: If meeting rooms or the event room are not officially booked, they are considered an extended coworking space and may be used for work. Please always keep the door open so that other members can also use the room. For meetings or with the door closed, we always assume an exclusive use, and will charge this as a room booking. g. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited throughout the SMH. Use our roof terrace or go in front of the SMH main entrance (Weyermannsstrasse 36). h. Temperature: The heating is set to a regular temperature. Please do not raise or lower the temperature yourself. If the heating does not work, please report this to the Welcome Desk.

  6. FOOD & DRINKS: a. Food brought along: You can store your own food in our refrigerator in the Community Kitchen. Write the food with your name and date. Undescribed, un dated or expired food will be disposed of on Fridays. b. Food: We ask you to take only small snacks at work. You can eat in the lounge, in the community kitchen, on the roof terrace or even out. In the lounge is Souvy's fridge, filled with healthy, sustainable menus for self-heating (for a fee). c. Coffee/Tea/Drinks: Our members are allowed to purchase coffee/tea and water free of charge. In the lounge you can get freshly ground coffee from the fully automatic machine at a fair price. Soft drinks and beer can also be found in the fridge of Souvy (for a fee). If you are a guest at the SMH, it is not allowed to consume coffee or food in the Community Kitchen. d. Cooking: You are welcome to use our kitchen for cooking. Clean and leave them clean as you found them.
